The second season Horimiya: The Missing Pieces fills in most of the time skips…
They choose to tell the overall story rather than the details, leaving most for the peole choosing to buy the manga.
S2 cover some of it but be warned the time jump are more brutal since it's patchwork of moment rather than a larger story, so it's up to the viewer to place them in the skipped part of S1.
Note: the 2 next episodes have a lot more of the side characters.
Another potential future recommendation(based on the premise of the side characters and couples being just as compelling as the MC's) would be The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague. I good romance story with adult characters. A lot like Wotakoi with some fantasy-like aspects to it.
I love your reactions to this anime series, #EstarReacts, because they're so amazing, and I love you very much because you're so cute and adorable. I'm still continuously supporting you because your anime content is absolutely amazing, and also because I really enjoy watching your reactions to different anime series.
Hori and her kink…. if it makes her happy.
Although it looks really bad from the outside looking at them
The time skips and the pace of adding new characters makes the first season pretty confusing to everyone (that hasn't previously read the manga). For the manga readers, the first season was great to see this story get animated, but even for them (or actually "us"), it was frustrating because so much got skipped in trying to get the entire story covered in a single season. The second season really helps to fill-in a lot of stuff on both Hori's and Miyamura's relationship with each other and with getting to know more about everyone else. So since the second season is already completed, you may want to got straight to that once you finish the first season, and then after that read the manga.
They crammed 2 to 3 seasons of a story into 13 episodes. The studio did not have much faith in this show. Boy, were they wrong. It's why they put out a second season a few months ago that takes place during this season. The whole second season is just flashbacks.
