You must tell me who is this bored and beautifully bald mysterious stranger?! 😂
So, in a typical new year, when has CGI released its first patch?
I find it very frustrating when I watch content creators who obviously arent playing the game much…Mike and Bored (esp Bored) fit this bill often. My sub is prior to both of theirs, so the idea that "We've grown out of the game" is person specific. I still play daily and expect if you're going be a content creator and expect people to find you credible, you have to be playing at an expert level. I find Bored is great at aggregating information but it is obvious is it information from an amalgamation of sources and not from his own experiences.
01:24:19 If the disperate gameloops were tied into each other in a way that resembles how CIG intends for them to impact each other in the final product much more, that would be great. It speaks to the economy and reputation. I want the universe to begin to coalesce into something more recognizable on a macro level. And I'd really love for VALUE of items/equipment/components/ships etc. to actually be a thing. Somethjng where earning something special, that actually impacts gameplay (not just trophy pr chochkis) can instill a sense of pride in earning and owning. Something rhat would actially matter if lost, stolen or destroyed.
I really would need to see server meshing actually release and working as mostly intended into the PU, with tick rates being improved and AI being improved. Bonus points for additinional AI ships being added to liven the verse. With their own pathing and landing splines, mostly around hubs of activity. Also, the interactible docile and predatory fauna (and flaura) too, would be sweet.
Updates to the interaction system, looting UI, starmap and all that jazz will certainly be welcome additions as well.
The accurate translation for this title would be
"Content creators whine for a very longtime that people(developers) dare to have lives outside of constantly updating a game."
Seriously, for everyone involved start covering additional games or something. The whining for new content constantly is getting old.
Lol CIG doing massive layoffs and paying 6 months severance for keeping employees quite. 3.23 if server meshing and replication layer falls on its face or its date slips again you can slot Star Citizens firmly into the scam / grift category. Still no tentative SQ42 release date almost 10 years after Answer the Call.
Cig still hasnt added a zero to ballistics, keeping them unusable. Cant wait for the shitty direction they are taking combat.
Im convinced that they have no intention of improving qol….ever. the way jared talks in updates, i truly think they despise their backers.
BORED AND TWERK together again feels like this should be redacted :O just missing a certain Dino
I'm keen to see movement on performance AI and server. For features I expect they will get most/all into the PU this year to try and make it more comparable to sq42 as they won't want people having to much of a jarring experience going from sq42 to PU, as the PU will be the long term earner. I think given they have investors, I expect a funding model change maybe next year, and I'd be very surprised if sq42 doesn't launch in 2025 at the latest.
We all know CIG can build environments, missions, ships, game mechanics etc etc. What we don't know is if they can get the performance sorted.
loving the quality of the show lately good job mike& team
slow start to the decade. rip my enthusiasm.
I suspect that planning for the year is a bit of a bigger task this time around because of all the re-orgs of the teams. From some of the shows towards the end of the year it seems like they'd already started but still a bigger than normal task i suspect as January is typically the planning month from memory.
Boredgamer and Mike, what are the odds of seeing Saurus ever again? 🙄
Most feature complete SC has ever been? Does that mean this game has proper progression now?
But will creatures have any real gameplay?.
Like if I want to go mining on let’s say daymar will we ever have something interesting like maybe nocturnal cave/sand spiders that hide in the caves during the day but leave to hunt at night. Giving hand minors the chance to mine while other people on the surface have to watch out at night and vise Versa for the day……. I have a hard time believing they would be able to pull something like that off
Cool game when does it come out?
i like to see that some of the overlooked things like a beacon from a player to get fuel or get towed in, i know that is not a big deal in the moment but this is sometimes ask for. i am looking forword to get more game possibilities like engineering but this can be a possible beacon too 😝
It was wonderful to see Mike and Bored on a podcast again. It brought back some good memories from the REDACTED days.
This year has seemed slower as far as direct communication on what is coming next from CIG. However, the game is also extremely playable for what I like to do in the verse. It's an odd start to the year for sure, but I hope this lull is just a moment before the flood gates are opened for the rest of the year. We shall see.
Ah we saw the cool stuff at citizen con – which we aren’t playing yet – and that’s what makes everything feel so slow
I don't really blame Mike, he's dealing with dead air. I don't blame the guest or cohost for that either, there isn't much to talk about right now.
I believe Mike used to skip these weeks when he was the solo host. It's just that time of year with Star Citizen where we spend weeks theory crafting after Citizencon and then run out of juice.
Is it just me or are every settlement made out of a junk yard? I mean, does everyone live between a rusted out fridge and a cutty gate? People are supposed to live here but every settlement is ripped plastic and rusty metal leaned against something. Not like they couldn't possibly buy a door or perhaps even build one. Oh wait, the trees are indestructible in Stanton, I forgot.
Mike conisder moving on to a new game.
Lore based missions in SC pu I don't see coming till after S42
I wish CiG would put a little more planning into balance when they add new things. …
– Hephastenite from the Pyro JP … More supply than demand in the whole system makes it impossible to sell even a small refinery order at some times
– RMC from Outposts … More Supply than demand in the whole system makes it impossible to sell even a single Vulture worth of RMC
– ERTs are so easy that a terrible Pilot like me can beat them and make millions in minutes
– The Reclaimer can be soloed with little to no effort and break down Millions worth of Salvage within minutes … The Buffer shouldn't be a thing in this ship.
I Agree that new things should net you a little more than current things, simply to make people want to do it. But CiG's balancing always goes waaaaaaayyyy overboard with everything or they forget to adjust demand if they flood the system with more supply than demand is available.
i thought about it more and realized bunkers etc could all get bigger. I kinda focused on the mission builders and using the tools but all the modelers also came over. some could begin making more tiles for stations and bunkers. They talked about both being able to be extended. If they only did small tiles just because of the limited manpower the "reinforcements" could expand on all of that. With more people they could also make larger environments down there.
I don't think we'll see new tiles until the end of the year if they are doing them all from scratch but something to think about. they have an opportunity to expand so much.
Oh and to expand on something someone else had said that got me thinking. Tarkov has 2 factions. the Spec Ops running around getting gear and the Scavs who are skavaging the ruins. Creating a system in SC to let players take over some of the roles of ninetails either as part of the org or their own gangs. have criminal missions to take over a bunker to hack the computers and another mission to stop them. they can still leave a few npcs to help but missions would be so much more engaging. Hell have a priority mission from the ninetails to get players to help them loot the platforms. let siege be a mixed PvPvE battle. then there can be proper tank battles on the platforms. hell have each platform once under control allow one side or the other to spawn there. but that is kinda long term. just letting people play on both sides would definitely be fun.
IDK.. cant see this picking up anytime soon, they have alot to cover.. I'd say they planning
Cig fulfilling on what they said they would at citizencon. Anything less is just another year of cig lying. After 10 years of saying something each citizencon then not doing it for the whole year then doing it all over again. At what point can we just say they are lying rather than coping for them by saying “well things change”. How come they seem to change every year so that they don’t have to do what they say on stage they will do. Come on.
Do what you said you would on that stage… anything less than that is a fail. Like it is every year.
Thanks for such awesome video to get 4 views) Just kidding, not only 4) I mean that there is a proven service to promote on yt with that name
Mike. I am one of the crazy-gross people you called out for hating on Bored's content. Bored's problem is not that "he is just reporting the news." His issue is that he conflates his opinion with the news being reported. Specifically, he blurs a line where he makes wild predictions that fail to come true. This creates unreasonable expectations that fuels toxicity in the community. It is a fair criticism and i will not follow content creators who engage in this behavior.
Legit apologies for my mic. completely reinstalled all my drivers and programs connected to sound, hopefully it's fixed.
Keep up the good work guys
Honestly I think an underrated facet of the "shills" discourse is the way recent leaks have been pretty uniformly untouchable to content creators, the main subreddit, etc. It creates a sense that when it really comes down to it, even in these pretty empty news times when there's literally nothing to discuss other than leaks, most content creators take their marching orders on what can and can't be discussed from CIG themselves.
What a panel!
With Croncy on this one… Creatures..
With the addition of the new caves, and the old ones… There is SUCH a big game loop there.
Go in and rescue a downed miner.
Oh by the way, the caves are swarming with mini biters.
Sometimes i cannot take the toxic positivity of Bored 😀 But i watch almost every vid he releases.
Good discussion. Will SC ever be a casual player friendly game?
people can be jerks. and it's the internet.
the redacted podcast back in the day is what sucked in me into this project. hah.
