Cig need to make a crafting ship thats smaller sized than the pioneer for basebuilding and be able to craft, sell and buy furniture and modules for players to decorate and add new features to our ships and for ground bases and later space stations, first in small scale and later larger scale.
Also cig needs to release concept anvil capital to get the whales to raize their eyebrows and open their wallets ❤
I'll hate the full wipe when it comes but I do see the point and need of it when we get there.
It looks like the ship price increases have been started some time ago based on the ships that won't have a change and when they released.
I don't think wiping bought in game ships makes sense. Keep in mind that a good portion of the playerbase will start the game with multiple ships already, they have to design around that, and gather data around that.
You cant complain about losing your in game ships at the moment no matter how many times you earn them back while the game is unfinished. You’re a tester at the moment.
I don’t want a full wipe I bought a bunch of gun at IAE that you can’t buy in game and almost never come across in looting boxes
Medical Ursa is super awesome; imagine taking medical beacons at hostile bunkers now!
Wait until the patch release and people have NO money and NO ships. They say they're not going to wipe ships, BUT CIG ARE NOTORIOUS LIARS.
Wiping money does not make sense. First, CIG created the "economy" it controls every portion of it: currency, prices, and availability. Second, not everyone participates in the "meta" of the moment. For example: I had a vulture before "Wrecks to Riches", but I only salvaged 3-4 times in the current patch cycle. I previous to "Wrecks" used the vulture to farm panels outside the L stations to support my mining adventures. Now that CIG has nerfed panel farming the vulture is more like a hangar queen. I take it out when CIG screws up my Aurora configuration (deleting my optional repeaters), and I have to find some cheap repeaters. Third, with ship prices going up, and you can only fly one ship at a time, it is unlikely that players will enjoy grinding for the same experience again. Some players gravitate to the next big thing (whatever CIG is selling at the moment), but even that soon loses it luster. Finally, what is the incentive to test out base building, whenever it finally arrives? It will be the most expensive purchase that a player will make. What funds will the player have if CIG doesn't reinflate the economy and repeat the same error that caused this wipe? In any case when/if the final, non-Alpha, game is produced won't CIG totally wipe anyway?
As someone who has 9 ships? I kinda want the wipe. I want to see how long it takes me to get back to that from square one, with the new ship prices/economy changes. I want to get a feel for what things are gonna be in 1.0 eventually, so I know what kind of time investment there'll be for me to get to a happy spot.
I sadly didn't know about Overdrive Initiative because I've been swamped with work the past few weeks, so I just started hammering out the missions this weekend. I got 5/5 on Incursion and Intel, and 3/3 on the Priority Targets. I only have Surveillance and Supply left, and hopefully I can knock those out before 3.23/the end, so the longer 3.23 takes to get here the better, for me. I'd like to have that F7A upgrade for down the road, and it'd be nice to have finally earned something in game, even if it is a silly armor.
So i was trying to make some sence of them eliminating money, and rentals, and not in game purchashed ships and heres what i came up with. Most players dont want to lose their stuff and cig knows that. New players will still be able to give them the balancing info they need without deleting current players ships. So you ask why delete the in game money then? Because current players could or may give new players their uec. Eliminating rentals could also cause people to make uec more slowly in the beggining which would give them the info they need from new players only
They need to give people an incentive to help test a set of gear or something
how do i get this on my pod cast app?
2 big reasons for not wiping the ships
– MMode testing feedback (the most imp for them)
– Invictus coming in so free players that have SC friends will see their ships making them to buy the game so they have what their friend has.
I earn money to watch the counter go up 😂
You hit the nail on the head Mike. Don't wipe anything right now because you're getting bad information. Wipe when you implement cargo and personal hangers which should also make that process a bit smoother. Then gather fresh and accurate information.
I've never had security show up and help me with the bounty. In 3.23 NPCs just show up randomly to help you whether you are struggling or not. I understand what he is saying and it is definitely different now.
it's funny when people say make the game more fun lol… Dark Souls 3 is fun.
"Is steering fixed for unconventional wheeled ground vehicles?" I feel burned by the mule because it doesn't skid steer correctly, and I'll still pay up to $100 for a raptor even though it's front wheel steer (deapite industriy standard being rear wheek steer for sweeping-dedicated platforms from Elgin's Pelican to Tennant floor scrubbers.)
Full wipe might be prefered by some hardcore fans like us, but I'm sure many would be upset as well. They still get to see at what rate players earn money with the economy changes and how fast it becomes inflated compared to before.
I strongly believe they should rather keep their focus on other ways to provide engagement, they quickly need to learn how to that without relying on wipes in preperation for 1.0. If that is Overdrive/Xenothreat, SOO, Jumptown, improved AI, Invictus, server stability, mission gameloops, medical beacons or whatever, it's really way more important to me that they get those and other upcoming content and features nailed down, versus removing ships to make me earn them again.
I have a theory about the wipe, what if the 3.23.0 wipe is just money, so they can see how people earn money with a wide array of ships, to see how the prices affect more "end game" gameplay.
And then when 3.23.x comes along with the cargo changes, they'll wipe everything then, as peoples inventory migh need to clear out to better transition yo those changes, and then they can see what yhe economy changes are like from a fresh start.
And doing so, they can sort of dodge the "they're wiping because of ship sale" comments around Invictus.
CIG is a tech company using our desire for a game to fund their company. No debt. If they end up making the game, cool. If they only end up with licensable tech, CR and investors are happy clams.
Great Watch!
Because of Croncy I must now find a way to use mules on top of 890 jumps and Carracks.
I was here for 3.18 and I dont have early access. I was there for the jank. I’m here for it again. Bring the release!
