Temperature checks are normal for the kinder journals in Japan, it helps monitors potential health issues that may occur. As the Japanese take work culture seriously, this becomes vitally necessary to prepare for the need to take days off to tend to their children.
Meanwhile this sounds like a foreshadow/precursor for what happened in the very beginning of episode 1 when Miri got sick. Looks like one of the Papas forgot to write on that journal… 👀
It's probably for the best that Miri wasn't accepted into the first daycare. It looked more like those preschools where more focus is placed on academics which Miri likely wouldn't thrive in with her personality and you could tell the lady was looking down her nose at Kazuki and Rei.
Meanwhile, the second place was a lot cozier and laid-back and the teacher actually took the time to talk to Miri instead of having her go play in the corner. Seem like a much better fit all around.
me now just realizing they full adopt her by now…man im slow

I see a lot of people literally trash talking Miri for being "rowdy and annoying" like they never saw a 4-year old act like a 4-year old. This is why I like your reaction because as parents, I know you guys understand how normal it is for children to act like how Miri acts. Looking forward to the next ones already! <3
IIRC the director (or someone in the staff) interviewed parents and their experience which helped add to the story.
I'm glad they didn't choose the 1st daycare it looks so strict and focused on academic which can really damaged a child's personality, Also in Japanese culture, a kid who tends to wear expensive clothes can really make them standout and become outcast to common kids because they think they are 'different ' from them which is why this episode shows the true and harsh reality of kids behavior, That's just the way it is, Glad miri have friends now though
I love how everytime you talked about kids antics and then the next scene, Miri did just that. Shows that the writer of this anime really knows what it's like dealing with kids.
