That Daycare scene had me wheezing. Wholesome and funny!
The moms texting each other about them made me laugh so hard. Rei finally smiled because of a store with cheap items. This show is just so fun! Also props for him breaking the ice to help Miri make friends. That was super adorable. I love how they were both so worried about her. They are really full-time dads.
It depicts what it's like raising a child far better than any anime I've seen. The scene of her wanting to pour the washing detergent and spilling it everywhere was too real.
When Rei, Kazuki and Miri pulled up to the daycare and got out a the car insert "boondocks a pimp named slickback theme"
Your opening shot looks like a wish version of double dragon. I'm not complaining, double dragon is a fun game. Hell, I think I just changed my perspective about this show.
Unfortunately Crunchyroll didn't release the episode over here so I had to yo-ho, but worth it! Gotta love Miri just running roughshot over the house in the beginning. The author obviously has raised a small child before. So lifelike.
This episode was so amazing. Like it’s one of my new favorite episodes of this season. In how they did portray the family stuff in such a wholesome and comedic way. It really shows that they did further research on how it’s being a parent. As it looked so realistic in the way Miri was acting once again. Those first minutes of the show was my favorite screen. Then I loved how they want the daycare story route for this episode. As it makes sense that they would need something like that. One thing that I have heard about daycare in Japan is that it’s much harder to get. Then in many other countries so was surprised that it went fairy easily for them. Even if they had to fake some documents for that. But when they went to a fancy clothing store to buy branded clothes. I know that the bill would be stupidly expensive. Then when they went to the daycare in their new fancy clothes. We saw some thirsty moms that did notice our boys. Also that angle with the bullying was pretty realistic. In how they did ignore Miri because she looked so different. And how Kazuki did notice how Miri reacted to her saying that she was not pleased. And was getting worried until he finally did find out the problem. His solution was great in how small children loves to see tricks with footballs. Which got Miri accepted in the group finally
She’s definitely a legit child acting like a child in this show that is acting her age and is wholesome. It’s funny how this could look like filler lol. Research definitely helps lol. It sucks how clothes and appearance can make you an outcast but that makes sense and especially with kids or Japanese culture. This isn’t the rich prodigious school like in spy x family lol. The daycare is wholesome. Also Kazuki grows up with certain values and wanted to make sure she was accepted even though this is a middle class sort of daycare. They are also young enough to accept Kazuki as a cool fun dad. A lot of children are chaotic although not all are. This studio is very consistent in animation and their series. Those moms were thirsty lol which makes sense considering how they look. I know some get upset at the thought of shipping them together which likely isn’t the direction they would take but I mean I can see them being dudes who are good friends that don’t become anything more other than dads to Miri. Like a platonic connection built on taking care of Miri. There’s bound to be some issues they have internally from their past that they will have to resolve and it’s still uncertain if they will remain as her parents or if they will move on from their current jobs and live a normal modest life
This episode was so much and it felt so relaxing after I watched especially after my 12 hour shift. They may seem like goofing off a bit. But they sincerely trying as all of this is knew of them. Since they never though about having a family in this line of work. With all the paperwork, rules and things you need to prepare its ain't easy even if you are prepared. This such a nice blend of comedy,wholesomeness and action and at times dark stuff.
How much you want to bet Miri is going to rope her new classmates into playing an assassin game inspired by her papas' jobs?

Love how they added a sense of realism of a kid having expensive clothing can give them difficult time to make friends
This show is great, I lost interest watching SpyxFamily months ago, Buddy Daddies really shows that reality of having 2 fathers in a separate roles (Not lovers, but something like Godfathers or Uncles still also exist you know)
Miri whispering at the teacher "they do bad business" had me laughing, this episode was a riot and a half. Also the part they check out the new store, way too relatable.
Something that had me rolling was all the parent jokes. I imagine if your a Mom this whole episodes comedy hits different. Like I get it, but I bet every parent in the audience was just like "been there"
I don't remember for certain, but Kazuki said he grew up in foster care, right? Or at least, not raised by his parents. So it makes sense that he'd want Miri to look too cool to be messed with; he's speaking from experience (probably both from childhood and the powerplays of various adult circles). He just didn't know that you can go too far to the other side, where the kids are too scared to even approach. Glad Anna-sensei could help.
I'm a little surprised Kazuki never knew about the cheap department store (walmart or surplus equivalent?) if he grew up poor. Maybe once he entered 'the business', he focused on "The Best" stuff that he could now afford, and never took note of cheaper options?
I love how realistic this episode was. It wasn't going to be easy to just enroll a four year to a daycare out of nowhere. Plus all the paperwork and items she needed to enroll. It def is worth it because they can now focus on their work but I'm glad there was an episode that just showed the struggle to prepare to enroll. It made me remember my primary and secondary school days. This whole episode gave me such back to school nostalgia and I don't know if I'm happy or sad about that.

Ironically speaking… I do find this to be better than SpyxFamily. Both may be fake families but in someways… best girl Kiki said in Nisemonogatari, the fakes will fill more original than the original since the fake will do all it can to feel and look original
