The night scene between thorfinn and einar is different compared to the manga. I was really excited for that scene but after watching the episode, I am a bit disappointed. I don't get why they change it.

This season is more expressive , with to the point dialogue.
I'm pretty sure the difference between Fox and Snake was the intent to kill. Thorfinn has lived on a battlefield. He would know if one is just bullying and not being an actual threat. Snake must've really gone in for the kill to see what Thorfinn is actually about.

Scene was so intense even the crickets stopped chirping. The dialogues and facial expressions and the character motions was amazing, this episode is beautifully done.

Canute nd Thorfinn both hv so much depth in their respective characters.
Thorfinn's actions are less, but have more significant meaning. Snake saw Thorfinn demeanor, and attacked him to see the truth. It was Snake being a danger, on the threat level of Askeladd that made Thorfinn become briefly alive.
A sad reminder of what his life was in season one. It was all toward revenge, in a duel against Askeladd. This was so ingrained into Thorfinn core, that we see his body react to Snake attack without Thorfinn realizing it.
But Snake isn't Askeladd, and Askeladd is dead. While Thorfinn is living, but isn't alive.
The lady that he beheaded in his dream, that's the lady who saved him when he was injured and hid him from the soldiers. He didn't kill her, but he indirectly caused her death when he signaled Askeladd's group to attack her village. He must feel really guilty about this.

The fight scene at 12:15 is the same action as S1 ep.7 when Thorfinn was fighting at the top of the french «castle », reality has become a nightmare.

this scene is different from the manga in a good way bcs in the manga this scene feels so plain
This episode changed a lot of stuff from the manga. The whole barn scene was almost completly different… Einar doesn't strangle Thorfinn, he stops himself way before that (when he is standing). We don't see what's Thorfinn dreaming about, that whole Einar monologue he was shouting at Thorfinn wasn't in the manga either. And when Thorfinn asks Einar why do he always wakes him up, Einar thinks "So that's it, he is not used to be treated kindly by others" and answers: Because you and I… are friends. Is a much more lighter and wholesome scene. I don't know how to feel about this changes, specially because Einar acknowledging that the past doesn't matter because they're friends now is the whole point of the chapter in the manga, it's literally called "His first friend" :s
