YES! LET'S GOOOO! i'm only 2 volumes into strange fake as of now but Narita Ryohgo is one of my favorite authors from his other series like Baccano or Durarara, and I'm sure he won't disappoint with this either.
Hyped for the anime
It's finally here! This will be fun. I'm not caught up with the novels, but I got up to the end of volume 6. It's a wild ride, as should be expected from Narita, he really goes all out with making this the ultimate canon well written fanservice entry in the series. Expect it goes farther than just Fate fanservice, which is why I think it's a part of the Nasuverse that is best enjoyed as late as possible. By now you should be able to get most if not all the references to come.
For starters, this is the long awaited main entry that takes place after Stay night and Hollow that isn't in some really distant timeline. Not to say that it's exactly the same one, especially when SN has 3 timelines and Hollow has…all of them at once. Though nowadays the sequel series to Case Files also takes place after Hollow and is also full of very nice callbacks. Haven't finished Case Files yet, but what I've heard of Adventures makes me very excited too.

For context. "Fate/strange fake" originally started as 2008 April Fools short story by Ryogo Narita called "Fake/states night". It was presented as a prologue to a game concept (a game that didn't exist outside of readers' imagination). It was posted on Narita's blog for a short time. A year later, it was published in a Type-moon magazine, retitled as "Fate/strange fake". Several years later, Nasu and Takeuchi approached Narita with an offer to make it a full official thing. In 2015, volume 1 of the light novel came out, and everything from the original short story migrated into the light novel, except for "Epilogue: Player" chapter, which was just a couple of pages covering general rules by which the hypothetical game would be played, and some art originally drawn for it.
Everything before the "Observer. Or, Character Creation" chapter is mostly from the 2008 version. There are a couple of small additions here and there in the setup portion, but from what I see, everything you've read so far is all old 2008 stuff.
