HEARTBROKEN! When God Won't Save You…Trigun Stampede Episode 4-5 😭

trigun stampede has really solidified its placement as best anime of winter 2023 for me.

Trigun along with To your eternity so far has been emotional truck in the feels. Really so far its been fun,scary and exciting all in to one. The whole worm situation and the kid controlling and manipulating was good way to take shift and then in turns out that you were right to be cautions of the new guy.

Nicholas calling out how Vash views things as hypocritical is understandable from his own view. I truly feel bad for Rolo cause he was waiting and sadly he came across that "doctor".

The power coming back on as Vash and Wolfwood were leaving the town had a strange eerieness to it. The atmospheric storytelling in this show, is on another level.

Bruh… I love this show. After Nier got shafted by Aniplex and now that it's on indefinite hiatus. Trigun is definitely top tier and is definitely number 1 in terms of new anime that isn't a sequel.
Woofwood is an amazing character. I loved how he was introduced and he seems like a no nonsense guy with the cross he has on his back. And the fact his cross can go from a gun to a laser is absolutely astonishing. The way he was just flinging it around his back and the way it was transforming was really well done. I love what this studio is doing in terms of the 3D and animation in general.
Ep 5 came in with the emotion. Seeing that Vash knew this child since he was born and now when he died, he still felt he could save him. I can't imagine how Vash is dealing with all of this mentally and not breaking down because this hurts. Not only is his brother a menace and he's going from town to town destroying everything in sight and bringing death along with it and of course Vash gets all the blame because he's related but also even when he tries to be a hero, to do good, things just seem to happen to make him look like the bad guy.
He cannot catch a break and this world is absolutely brutal. Am I the only one who found the end of the episode when the wind blew and the Windmill village lit up as they were driving away from it eerie asf. Yeah… That definitely sent a chill down my spine.
Was Wolfwood right for taking the shot? Vash didn't think so but when you look at it, Vash could've died easily and although there might have been some humanity left in that thing. It would've been dangerous to keep it around. Very sad and very heartbreaking episode but a very good one at that.

Also off topic, Tokyo Revengers is really heating up right now… The recent episode was so good. I hope you're planning to do a review on that one too.

Anyway great review Brandon, like you, I'm scared and excited to see where we go from here with Trigun.

The ending of this episode is
eerie. As soon as Rollo dies the wind returns and powers the whole town as Vash and company drive away in somber silence.

Wolfwood is an interesting new character and as I recall Vash’s foil. There’s definitely conflict. It’s also interesting how Vash is the key if he leaves his Pacifist views as they said. Important to note how Vash knew the kid Rollo about 20 years ago despite looking young. Definitely heartbreaking episode. Vash seems older than he appears to be. The manga was darker and more serious while the original anime had some goofy humour and did drag out some of the plot points. So this series is much more focused after the author has completed his story and has a better idea of direction and tone I think. Must be hard for some fans with nostalgia though (not me) but I’m liking this a lot. The explanation for the reason of how the boy Zazie controls worms differs between the og anime and manga apparently. Also the boy from the cult who became the cyborg to save his life is apparently called Monev the Gale. Still curious if it’s one or 2 cours but I definitely think they will wrap everything up well

I’m assuming rollo is the 98 allusion of Monev the Gale?
