Interestingly enough my dad grew up on a poor dairy farm and he used to tell me stories about him as a kid working out in the fields….picking the rocks out of the rows was one of those activities so this kinda stuff always brings back memories to me lol.
I agree with you about the wealth I think. It’s all about balance. I know many people who despise resources like money and wealth because of what it does to people and they are not wrong but I believe that as people with free will and even a glimmer of control over our actions we don’t have to always succumb to our deepest darkest desires of greed and obsession
My dad started taking me to a ranch around when i was 12 so he showed me the value in hard work. I really enjoy it, keeps a man busy, busy enough to not kill each other anyways 😂
I'm really loving this season's style and Thorfinn's steady development; it's making me a lot more appreciative of the little things in life. I love how the show is touching on different ways on how people of that time made sense of all the issues they lived through and their gradual realisation of problems in life outside of war. When you mentioned about life hanging by a thread it made realise how the show does a great job of illustrating how people can appreciate and enjoy things despite their awful circumstances with Einar and Thorfinn representing very unique ways of handling it.
I think the lighting looks better as well, less harsh makes it feel more cozy in general 👌

（農業国であり戦闘民族だった）日本の死生観、国家感のフィルターを通したストーリーだと思ってましたが。これほど共感してもらって、これは万国共通の価値観だと反省しました。

Good episode. The dialogue between Sverkel & Snake was really good. As you said Ketil used his wealth to give slaves opportunity to earn their freedom back, the power of wealth & how he uses it can be mirrored with Canute who has to use the power of his crown to gain more power (conquered allies, territory) in order to build "paradise on earth".

that's character development at the highest peak only Thorfinn and Musashi was able to achieve the best character development in all of manga and Anime history. Season 3 we sail for vinland and more fighting alone the way
