Hope you enjoy guys decent episode today as mentioned the first story here was very disappointing like the end of last episode a very interesting premise and a great start to the episode asking some interesting questions but it never went anywhere with it or had any horrific moments or comedic moments or anything of much really haha shame honestly again brilliant premise which could be expanded on but the second story was amazing. Had everything the first lacked atmosphere, horror, interesting characters and it nailed its moments and there were plenty of them in the short time we got again loved this story and the death scenes I kinda knew it would be great from the preview last episode with a not as interesting premise it just nailed everything imo but let me know what you thought in the comment section!

So the first story is one of the 6 oshikiri stories that exist (it’s the 4th one overall) and while i do enjoy it i think the main issue with the anime is that the story really really does not work on its own when presented like this (especially when it’s the only oshikiri story that appears in this show) like it’s adapted fine but it really doesn’t work out of context like this. Also the opening scene with the oshikiri burying the other oshikiri is anime original and i do not get the point of it honestly (it’s shot similarly the the first scene in the first oshikiri story but it’s so changed and contextually different that it’s basically a different scene) As for the second story it was an alright adaptation of the manga. The manga is clear on more details like the hair itself is alive and it decapitated chiemi in order to prevent from being cut off + more scenes of people freaking out over her depacitated body being found but it’d still say the anime was a decent adaptation. The ending is slightly changed from the manga though as in the manga the story ends with all the massive amounts of hair invading the guy’s room and him freaking out for his life over it, the shot of him being hung up and killed is original to the anime. Overall i’d say the adaptation of this one was pretty decent honestly. Like sure if i wanted to experience long hair in the attic again i would just read the manga instead of rewatching this but it was atleast decent and i’m happy we atleast got a decent adaptation (the visuals are obviously better in the manga and look worse in the episode but that applies to the entire show so i’m only really gonna bring up the visuals if i have any major issues with them)
