I'm glad that my worries about Karin holding a grudge against Kazuki for what happened were put to rest. Even after learning the truth about her sister's death, she still had the strength to forgive him and encourage him to move on with his life. Hope she can still come back to visit some time since she seems like she'd be a cool aunt to Miri.
I also thought that Ogino's involvement in the incident was him being sent to assassinate Yuzuko as retribution towards Kazuki, by someone who held a grudge against him but it looks like it really was just collateral damage. Still think he's coming back as some kind of final antagonist for the season alongside Rei's family.

Man it amazing anime hope Kazuki find his happiness along side Miri and Rei he no longer shackled with regret and is forgiven by the sister of the woman he loved pregnant with his child that died in that horrible accident and she had the courage to tell him it wasnt his fault and that she forgive him anyway and tells him it okay to find said happiness and not to drown in despair and regret and now he can I hope rei will find his light too which is hint to be Miri herself cause in episode 2 in believe when Miri was calling him to save her from being take rei has a flashback about his training with abusive assassin father was dark shadowed and foreboding and the miri flashback was full of light and hope and sense of Foreign happiness
This episode was great. I loved how Rei was taken care of Miri. After that Kazuki basically rage quit on them, because of how they where acting at the dinner table. Like Rei might not have given her as healthy food that Kazuki would. But Miri loved it anyway which was so sweet to see. So this episode Rei was the best parent IMAO. Then Kazuki was depressed as this was near the time of year that his late wife passed. And it didn’t get better as his sister in-law was in the area. Which he had too much guilt to meet and talk with. But I’m happy that she was nice to our boy and did encourage him to move on with his life. Also during that flashback the car that the target was driving in. Was shot at by the same dude which did “clean” up their mess in a previous mission that they failed at.
Btw I did rewind the video to better see again. And his wife did not seem to look that pregnant out from what I could tell

Def. my favorite episode of Buddy daddies so far.. tragic backstory finally revealed..The first step to move forward is acceptance.. Kazuki cannot move on because he cannot accept the fact that his wife died "because of him".. he doesnt want to change bec he thinks his wife will be forgotten if he did.. he is stuck in the past.. thank god his wife's sister made him realize Memories are not a prison and that his wife would surely want him to be happy again despite all.. seeing their picture together out made me tear up a bit.. he is finally moving on.. Rei stepping up as a father to Miri is so refreshing to watch..
I love this episode so much even if it made me cry LMAO. I can always feel that Kazuki is being held back by his guilt over his family's tragic death and to see the whole picture now was worth the teasing over the past six episodes. He needed that talk and especially coming from Karin. It was the signal that he was waiting for but running away from. I can't wait for more! This is turning out to be even better every episode!

This series is not stop engagement with this show. It was surprising to see that there was no hostile feeling from the sister over what happened. She just wanted to have a connection with Kazuki but Kazuki can't forgive him self and but with her help maybe he can finally. This show is sleeper hit and is already top tier of this year anime
The only one left for the backstory reveal is Rei now
I was way off on his backstory, for whatever reason I thought he left his girlfriend and child because of his dangerous work. Nope, his soon to be wife was killed as a bystander on one of his missions. I can't imagine the guilt he's been holding onto.

I hate to compare it to Spy X Family, and i am not saying on is better than the other. But what i really love about Buddy Daddies is how the family doesnt always click that easily. Kazuki Rei & Miri are much messier than Yor Loid & Anya, and i think that really work towards the show strength. It comes off a being really grounded and relatable.
we not only get one truck-kun moment in the rain that almost ended with an isekai, but we see a second truck-kun take out Kazuki's wife in the flashback. That whole backstory was devastating and glad to see it resolved by the end. Kazuki and Rei have to step their game now as parents. Can't wait to see what unfolds next week.
Kazuki is basically a single mom with two bratty children … I feel for my man he deserves to be appreciated .
This episode, for me, solidified that this show is indeed better than Spy x Family ಥ‿ಥ
Wrong place wrong time. It’s good to see her sister show up and tell him it’s ok to move on. The little sister and ex wife look very similar. I could see Kazuki move on with his life outside of being an assassin. Also Miri became sick and Rei managed to help heal her with some help. We still have to resolve Rei’s past and I think another assassin is related to their past somehow. There’s a good portrayal of kids on this show. I think there’s another character or assassin in this show that must be relevant we saw a few times at the bar. He might have been involved in both of their pasts and he was involved in fixing up the blunder at that previous job earlier in the season
