The manga was deeper into the whole plant thing but yeah, red means they are dying not completely dead. I sorta think that is why Knives chose to go after the dying plant in ep 3 instead of the healthy one because I guess that he wanted to give the dying plant more attention ig? But I like y’all’s theories on this and can’t wait for y’all to learn more! 🙂
I think they mentioned last episode that they were surprised that Wolfwood was able to still keep his own will and his own mind after all the experiments. I'm guessing Livio wasn't as successful in that area, which is why he had to be more "programmed" where as Nicolas was coerced.
