After MAPPA’s Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 9 came out, many hailed it as a masterpiece. However, many also still complain about Vinland Saga and criticize Farmland Arc/Slave Arc for its lack of action, slow pacing and more (especially in comparison to current shonen). Are the complaints against the seinen show valid or not? I look into Vinland Saga and the complaints to assess if they’re fair.

What do you guys think of the complaints about Vinland Saga Season 2? Are they fair or no?
"But I wanna watch flat characters defeat each other with really big numbers, why can't Vinland Saga do that1?!?!?"
I think vinland saga season 2 is better than season 1
What does fighting in real life have to do with watching anime? Sound like a clown
I ended up reading the manga after watching season 2 and it moved me to tears on multiple occasions , and even more so once I realized that it's not even completed
I still think its trash nearly 10 ep and nothing happend execpt an idea total letdown and vinland 2 was hyped as hell
Up to ep 9 waste of time
Hope somthing would change
Honestly i love everything post time skip, ik it can be slow, but the story was clearly trying to shift more towards the adventure and character growth, rather than the fights and its a breath of fresh air. Its a retelling of the founding of a new country, its obviously going to have a slower pace!
The authors writing and understanding of the norse aspects is good and the story is very enjoyable and relaxing to read. Thorfinn is my favourite protag ive read for a long time and most of it is because of post time skip content
As a girl watching this anime there is plenty of action and gore in my opinion. And understanding how Thorfinn went throughout is his childhood and finally moving on from it. It makes me appreciate animes like this actually making men expressing real emotions and not being perverted assholes that get nose bleeds every time a girl appears on screen 😑 This anime is a 👍👍 for me.
I could watch these mother fuckers farm all day.
Season 2 is my favorite 😂💜 on god
I’m pretty fucking sure guys like jones or McGregor would beg to differ bout realizing violence ain’t good
They’re not true warriors
The people that complain are mindless idiots who only want to see violence.
Honestly, people are making it seem like there's way more people complaining than there really are. It's not like it's a vocal minority either. Even before season 2 came out, there was so much talk about how "oh I bet tons of people are gonna hate it because there's no action" and while yes there are now some who've voiced that opinion, it seems like there's not nearly as many people like that as everyone (including this video) is saying there are.
Just go outside you motherfuckers instead of wasting your time watching anime. I actually love anime, but I touch more grass than these complaining weaboos.
Vinland saga is not about Viking. It's about journey of a man. I know it kind boring in s2. But it's important to be a bridge to season 3, which is Comedy arc/ family arc/ or explorer arc
I cried during this episode being a Vet and all, all the lives I have taken, just following orders and now returning to a world where I am suppose to act "normal". It's hard looking at myself in the mirror or not having night terrors, but having to put that moncho guy face on everyday or a fake smile is finally getting to me. Sure its a fictional story and in a fictional world but those conflict's in everybody's heart and soul are very real, guilt. This episode captured it perfectly and I can't wait till the series get to more complex parts of the series.
How is vinland saga boring? It's the best show this season!
Just don't go to Twitter because all brain-dead haters flock on there.
Vinland Saga was boring and terribly written since episode 1. People only woke up to it at season 2 because you can only pretend to like something due to hype for so long. It's like One Punch Man and Promised Neverland.
manga reader you mean fanboys that get butthurt when someone talks be about your favorite anime.
season 2 still boring
without the gorey content it wouldn't even be a seinen.
1-8 is not peak character development (just because you can relate don't mean its good, honestly if your like this you need to be on sucide watch or in a rehab), thorfinn clearly could't move on with his life which been dragged out way too long, TIll met askaslad again🤣. All this just to be like an act like an main protagonist of an shounen manga🙀
rather watch till your eternity
I am actually liking IT. Even So i dont know manga And i though IT would be Fighting in 2nd season
You know i ask every person i come across that says that they're disappointed with season 2 the same question:"what did you expect? Who is Thorfinn going to fight?" And not one of them could answer my question. Goes to show what they took from season 1. I mean every violent act, every death was portrayed as a horrible action,in the 3rd episode we are told that a true warrior doesn't need a sword and throughout the first season we are questioned what a true warrior is. Ask an of those people that r getting bored now who their favorite character was in season 1 almost none of them will say Thorfinn because he just wasn't interesting then, just a one dimensional character without any depth whatsoever, askeladd carried the show, now he's dead so it would've been ruined if Thorfinn stayed the same boring killing machine, if i wanted fights I would've gone and watched a shonen (which i do enjoy a lot) but this is about the journey not the destination, there aren't monsters or Bad guys that Thorfinn needs to beat so he can reach his goal.
I'm fine with these people dropping vinland saga because in the future they won't be able to cry tears of joy when Thorfinn gets forgiven by a certain someone at a certain point.
i haven't read the manga but i did like how peaceful it is
If people hate season 2, then they hate character development in anime
So they hate every single anime that has garbage story
Trash
The farm saga is the part that sold me on this series as a manga. I didn't particularly recommend this series to anyone before I read this part.
JJK and Demon slayer's season 1 was the real definition of boring. The same story like demons and hunters . I was dropped that shows.
Yo, episode 10… Uff , this show has phenomenal writing. The whole canute and haraald part was so well done, it touched. I am out of words to describe how the ep made me feel. Just phenomenal
