It's difficult to believe that the story could end in one more episode. Then again, if Vash had truly been assimilated or if he truly wanted to defeat Knives, either of these things could truly happen in the next episode. That said, there are so many unresolved plotlines at the moment: Elendira's, Zazie the Beast's, Livio's, Gray the Ninelives', Legato's, Wolfwood's… And, there are a lot more characters that haven't even been introduced yet: Millie and at least 5 more members of the Gung Ho Guns. They need at least one more season if they wanna wrap everything up nicely.
