What a great episode! I really liked it despite how brutal it was! I did not expect what happened to go down nor what Canute had planned. Olmar finally did what he had wanted but it didn’t turn out to be quite what he thought. This’ll be the turning point for his character I think. But now everything has come together and is leading to the long awaited reunions and clash. I’m so exciteddd! Hope you enjoy!

Ok, let's keep it 100%, Olmar's goofy @ss might be one of THE most important characters in Farmland (at least side characters). What do I mean?
Well, Canute had schemes to take over Ketil's farm, so if Olmar wasn't there, he would've found another opportunity anyways.
But what IS important is the fact that if he didn't pick a pointless fight with Bug-Eyes, then Ketil and Leif wouldn't have crossed paths, and he wouldn't have been able to request Leif take him back to the farm (and by connection, Thorfinn).
I Can't help but chuckle that in the midst of all these cool and interesting characters, Yukimura chose Bug Eyes and Olmar to essentially be the bridges that connect Canute and Thorfinn.
yes canut had set up olmar and thorgil saw through it thats why he did what he did. he is way smarter than he lets on. also he only tries to convince Olmar because that’s what Olmar was always clamoring about wanting to be. He was supposed to be the one to inherit the farm, but because he was stubborn and wanted to be a warrior, Thorgil is merely allowing him to see what it’s truly like.
Thorgil is by far my favorite character
Spoiled by the manga: ❌
Spoiled by the history books: ✔
WHAT AN EPISODE. Thorfinn and Canute seeing over the horizon for what is going to be an eventful reunion, and the music gave us chills.
thorgil needed to do that
Spoilers:
Cant wait for Canutes decendants to invent Lego and build his paradise
phenomenal episode
canut's winter has come😅☠
I too found it strange that the guards thought Omar was supposed to be dead when they appeared, but I have a theory.
I think the plan was to have the assassin give Omar a moment of opportunity to kill one of the royal guardsmen. Then let Omar be killed by the dead royal guardsmen buddies and finally when Ketil arrived to the scene he'll be accused for his son's action then jailed thereby leaving the farm to be more easily taken over as it'll now have no other owners apart from Ketil's father.
Yeah, if I understand this episode correctly, Canute's original plan was to have Olmar kill the guy he was dueling (hence the coin guy), then use that as an excuse for the rest of the guys to kill Olmar, and THEN use the duel as an excuse to jail Ketil and take his land.
Also, while we are on the subject, violence is sometimes the only answer, such as stopping the Nazis in WWII.
Man they absolutely cooked Olmar 😂😂
At least when thorfinn lost against askeladd the first time, he had the excuse of being 6 years old. Olmar is like 19
Yeah I mean Thorgil wasn't just being reckless by starting to kill them all – it was a lot clearer in the manga but he quickly realised that they were being targeted (as no one ever cares when vikings fight amongst themselves) – so realising that the King's men were trying to set his family up, he decided that it was better to kill them all to protect his family than simply comply and get arrested/executed. Thorgil is one of those chararcters that is crazy battle hungry, but he's also incredibly smart and knows when to fight and when not to fight
10/10 ep
The new character people were talking about will be coming next ep
You just get chills knowing that Thorfinn is sensing the coming storm of Canute, but also Leif approaching as well. Thorgill is a character that is as much a loose cannon as his little brother, the difference is Thorgill knows himself and loves violence. Olmar just learned that (despite what he has done) he's a good person, his shame in killing shows that.Halfway point means we get a new theme song next week!
Lmao nooooo I was so sure that character would appear this episode but nope jaja at least the preview officially confirms he’ll appear next week tho I’m sure of it, I SWEAR THIS TIME LMAO! These chapters the anime is covering rn are all happening at the same time so it’s no big deal they aren’t happening in the order they did in the manga! The drama will def be hitting its peak tho it’s going to be amazing! I’ll be leaving for Japan tomorrow and staying for 2 weeks but I will def still be watching your reactions for these coming episodes!
Omg Canute and our boy Thorfinn are gonna reunite😭❤
another masterpiece!!!
I havent read the manga, but i think Canute will die a pathetic, sad death.
I love you 😊
This is brilliant storytelling where all the threads start falling into place.
Hi there, i have been looking to your react about fullmetal alchemist, you never watched?
I'm sorry, but the guard's laugh was so contagious, I couldn't help but laugh myself lmfao. Amazing ep
18:06 Canute planned Ormal to die: when Ormal killed the guy who imsulted him, the rest of the gang will gang up and kill Ormal, unfortunately Thorgil appeared and killed them all
This is why arabs couldn't conquer europe. Because European were like these badass warriors not like today.
😲👍🏻👍🏻
Tbh I wasn’t expecting Thorgill to be that strong. I thought he was all talk at the very beginning when he went back to visit his father. But watching him cut peoples body in half shows how strong he is. Imagine if he was the one who carried out the punishment for those kids, they would have been dead with just one strike.
Thank god next episode comes next week, can't wait, and we are already seeing something changing inside Olmars mind in this episode, love to see it
The contradiction you pointed out in Thorgil's teachings to his little brother vs Vinland Saga' s overall message… reminded me of Thors final moments, not killing any of Askeladd's men and his death resolving the conflict with the least amount of bloodshed. Which is Canute's utilitarian mentality, one life over 100 lives.
Thorgil's smart though and Ketil can't really blame, his farm & life were already decided in Canute's schemes.
I wonder if Thorfinn would leave the farm just like that?! What a way to connect his storyline with Canute's " ".
12:25 – 😭😭
This episode of Vinland Saga was surely very Violent n intense the more the series progress the more its getting darker
You are by far my favorite reactor for this show. Your level of empathy for the characters is beautiful.
First of all I'm just anime watcher. The way i see this i think, even tho Thorfin is free now. I'm sure he will help Ketil to protect the farm. Because that was his home for the last couple years. He make a friend, a "job", a place to sleep, free meal & a caring grandpa.
Eventho Ketil farm had enough manpower (farm guards, thorgil, thorfin) to put a fight with Canute army they still going to lose & had to flee. So basically, Canute win, get the farm & Thorfin squad become "criminal" on the run.
I'm not sure if Ketil family will survive this battle tho. At least please Thorgil survive this battle he a huge assest for Thorfin squad.
Great n fun Vinland Saga Reaction video Otaku Mai keep up the amazing work
