Season 1 of Stampede happens before the OG. It's a prequel. Season 2 will probably be set during the same time and include Milly. That's really when people should be comparing the two. I agree that the animation is overall great in Stampede.
I was reluctant to watch this new version, but when I finally caved, I found myself REALLY enjoying it🥰
People who were complaining about changes looking real corny after episode 12. Stampede has issues but when most of the people complaining are saying "It's not like the original" sound like people who hate change.

I think it's really funny how overrated the 1998 anime is. The nostalgia factor is wild. The 1998 anime was one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life, lol.
As an ancient anime fan I give stampede my full stamp of approval. I went into it trying not to compare the original and I was anything but disappointed. It seems to follow the original manga a lot closer but also adding elements from the anime as well. I enjoyed the hell out of it, I've seen a lot of remakes and this is how you should do a remake.
HOW DO I GET THE TRISTAMP HATERS TO WATCH THIS SHOW!?? THEY ARE LITERALLY MISSING OUT! THE ANIMATION, THE EVERYTHING..IT WAS PHENOMENAL-

There are terms for this kind of people: Clowns and dickriders. They don't care that the OG anime had a lot of filler. They don't care that the author of Trigun was one of the people working on Stampede. They don't care that the studio that has been constantly breaking ground with CG is behind this with people who if they're not giants in their industry now will be for sure in 5ish years. And they don't care that from episode 1 it was made clear that the JuLai incident didn't happen yet so this was a prequel. They are just dogs that bark when they hear other dogs barking.
Even if the series is not for you, there are basic truths that are easy to recognize by just using your eyes and rubbing two braincells together. Be a human, not a dog.
OG anime fan and 1998 Trigun is what made me fall in love with anime as a whole and I absolutely adore this reimagining of Trigun.
I watched 98Trigun, ut was the funniest anime I've seen but still I'll chose Stampede because that show actually have a plot"-" and its good
Ik first half if this season was fast af but i can ignore that, no problem
I think in S2 Vash will develop his signature goofy and funny side just like 98 Trigun to hide his pain and guilt because he'll OFC blame himself for his brothers death (ofc he didn't die) and for destroying Julai city and the people's who lived there
Their acting the the “boomers” they dislike. Like cgi in anime as been around before some. Of us were born. And it has improved soooo much
It's funny for the people who prefer the OG anime are quick to forget the first 2 episodes were from the manga; the rest were basically an OVA. And some possibly have never read the original manga and Trigun Maximum.
Honestly, I usually just shut down an anime when I see it is CGI, but I loved the original so much I wanted to to see Vash in a new story, so I decided to watch it.
It's so good, and is some of the best anime CGI I have ever seen. I love the original, but this is a great modern reiteration of the original Trigun story.
I highly recommend this. To anyone coming off of the original.
As a massive OG trigun fan ,it’s prolly a top 15 anime for me, I absolutely loved stampede. Story was debatably better. Excited for seasson 2. I bet it’ll b good
Also the og anime doesn't follow the manga 1-1. Because the manga wasn't finished and they needed to come up with something
People hated on this way too much, but at the ending where it reveals something BIG (go watch it to find out, it's after credits of last episode) They're all like, "OH WOW! THIS IS GREAT!"
Fr i watched stampede cus i saw a clip of the surprisingly incredible CGI animation. I’ve never watched Trigun bfr and I WAS HOOKED ON HOW INTERESTING THE WORLD WAS FIRST EP. I thought the pacing was a wee weird but the more i watched the more forgot ABT IT SRSLY SUCH A BEAUTIFUL AND FASCINATING ANIME. I was shocked at the hate it received but its always expected when coming from fans of an og nevertheless this show is peak

I love the old trigun, mange trigun, and the new trigun. Trigun is one the reason I love anime. I think they did a amazing job. I can wait for the season 2 and Milly will be there can wait..
I will admit 1 thing: I have never seen the original. I kept seeing gifs of the remake, decided to watch it, and fell in love with the show<3 After binging it I am now considering watching the og show and/or reading the manga 😀
I think the remake will bring in new fans such as myself! I dont know if there are any throwbacks or references but hopefully theres something in the remake for the og fans too!!
I think you forgot that this isn't JUST a reimaging of the original series, it's a prequel. Most of the difference and changes are actually more designed closely to the Manga as well. The trigun everyone grew with has a mostly anime only ending, this trigun instead stick more closely to the source material, while also changing things up just enough to give it a more modern take on the story. My personal rating is 8/10 it's a great adaptation and I loved watching it. Does it cement itself as one of the greats? No, but it's definitely worth the watch, if your a fan of the original or not.
While i liked the finale as someone who read the manga just recently I do think some things were flubbed. Vash was incredibly reactionary, so was Meryle and Robert Dinero, legato is barely in the show though i do think there are plans for him. And of course Vash having any sort of wanted reputation BEFORE he uses his angel arm is highly questionable. I don’t understand who’d look at knieves and mistake that for Vash, or let alone who’d live to see him.
Plus Wolfwood evolving into an adult in months was kinda cringe, in the manga he ages to like age 30 over 6 years he’s probably 18, not to imply there isnt a sign of a timeskip but the metaphor I took from it was the Eye Of Michael robbed childreb of innocence and turned them into killers, hence why its a religious organization separate from knieves but connected.
Didn’t make much sense for knieves to own the eye of michael to me.
Also yeah I think there should’ve been more status quo with Vash. He isn’t goofy as he is in either materials and as a result he looks more like a whiny baby than someone struggling with the extensional ideals of good and evil. We get 2 episodes of normalcy and it very quickly evaporates. The original anime turned its filler into its meat by always informing something about Vash to the audience which I thought was great. Still loved the animation just some story choices are ehhh
