All the people who drop this show make the biggest mistake they could ever made watching an anime. This is not a SHONEN anime, this is a SEINEN anime. Because seinen is aimed at an older demographic in comparison to its shonen counterpart, it often includes adult themes that you wouldn't generally see in your typical shonen title.
I'm not sure he is a coward…maybe his legend is true…
wheres one piece?
This episode was tough to watch, I wanted to jump through that scene and kick the masters butt for hitting her😂😂
😢
kind of disappointed with how casual thorfinn's meetup with old man was
Iron fist😂
When she said I don’t think the master would punish her 👀. Ketil was in love probably but Arnheid clearly didn’t love him. She was a slave her child died and her husband was enslaved then died before her eyes.
Your kinda right about the old master yet missed another point. The old master started hearing the Bible. Probably figured out that being a slave is a horrible life. Old master also knew that Arnheid had a life and love before she got enslaved.
he isn't a psycho, he is a kind man who lost everything, he know the king is mercyless, now the king is coming and everybody don't respect him
Well ppl wanted violence on this show? Well here it is. Enjoy the violence
Y'all coming up with some complex explanations for why a women should be allowed to leave with her husband lol.
oh, Fuck Ketil, i now change my mind, let Canute take all of his farm and kill him!
I think the point of this episode was to showcase how decent people can turn into monsters under the conditions of a rotten system like slavery. Thorfinn even mentions how kind and reasonable Snake is earlier that episode. Ketil was under tremendous pressure from the king, has been through emotional trauma, relied heavily on Arneid as therapy, then finds out his biggest emotional connection wants nothing to do with him.
I am not watching Vinland Saga for 1 month. I am now burying my 👀 into the soil. ⚰ ☠
You guys are overreacting, Ketil hit her because of his stress, Ketil is having such a hard time compared to everyone, and the ONE person be trusts, stabbed him in the back and tried to leave, it's not right, but he isn't just a crazy person who hits people when he gets a little upset
Lml y’all trippin….shortie the reason 5 of snake men died so I find her punishment reasonable to me but maybe is me
I believe she had it coming anyway after she set Gardar free…but the way Ketil bet her that was way too violent so violent that Snake had to put some sense in him. U all r just taking sides and arguing with each other without seeing from other people' perspective. Ketil was completely broken when he came back…he had been working hard for years to protect his farm and now his whole farm will be taken away…he goes to Arnheild, his only place of comfort and finds out she tried to run away which just erased the rest of humanity he had in him, be in a situation like ketil and see how it feels before commenting ill about him.
Now about Arnheild, she just went to tend to the wounds of Gardar and had no intention of setting him free. But upon reaching there her emotion reached its peak, she again started to have her family back something he had no intention of doing while she was having dinner and she just wanted to raise ketil's child, moreover she was scared that those guests might even harm her so she freed him, she was not at fault either, she knew about the consequences but still she hoped for a bright future…imaxgine urself in place of her and see how it feels
You guys are too caught up in 1 vs 1, just have some sense and use ur perspective for the other team u r arguing against as well…
The result which took place in this episode was not because of their actions…it was because of the situation and feelings which they had to go through…
The scene with Arnheid and Ketil. Like I forget when was the last time some scene in any anime made me this angry (my blood was legit boiling) and uncomfortable. This was hard to watch. The way it was directed, the sound design, the music and the voice acting by Arnheid and Ketil's voice actors made this scene tough to witness. And this was pretty realistic (as much I hate to say it) because actual slave owners in our world would in fact do horrible stuff like this or something even more worse.
Poor Arnheid 😢. I feel absolutely horrible for her (specially after she lost Gardar in the previous episode). And Ketil. I do see why he turned out like this as fragile men like him who can lose their minds when loads of bad stuff or even bad luck happens to them so MAYBE I can sympathize with him a tiny 0.0001% bit. Doesn't excuse what he did here because if your compare him with Arnheid who had to suffer bad things happening to her for years and yet she was strong enough to endure all of it.
It's often said some of the most kindest people can turn out to be some of the most horrible people. Perfect definition for Ketil.
There is no justification for Ketil's action as much as ppl base his violence off the fact that he is very selective on who he gives freedom too and how slavery is inherently evil regardless of how "well" you treat a slave Sverkel also talks about how Ketil is obsessed with wealth and keeping it he's borderline insane
Ketil is me, fu*ck be a nice guy, let's go villain mode
YOU GUYS COMPLETLY MISUNDERTOOD THIS EPISODE. You overthinking too much, my man just got betrayed and stop being a nice man.
First time I can’t argue with you Steph, he was going through it and took his anger out on the one he love the most
