I'm really glad that you caught the fact that Canute was referring to Askeladd when he said "Who'd you learn that from?"
Most people instantly skip the conclusion of Thors. In the manga, Canute actually says "You sound like Askeladd.".
Don't really know why they made it so cryptic in the anime.

Bringing the emotion out of that episode. Vinland saga definitely rising in the ranks of my top anime. Don’t talk to my dad much about anime but this is one I’ve debated showing to him once there is more content.

It’s sad that some folks think this season was trash compared to the first one, people nowadays have such a short attention span and don’t care about delicately crafted stories and properly written characters.
Thorfin's character arc is one of the most impeccable things I’ve ever seen, I think he has become my favorite anime character and I remember being annoyed by him in season one. I can’t think of any other anime character that can compare with his character arc in terms of depth and masterful writing. The only fictional characters that I feel are as well written as him are Jimmy and Kim from Better Call Saul, a show that left a similar impact on me as this show has.

Friends of mine think that vinland saga season 2 sucks. They call it boring.
Crazy how some people can have such a bad taste.. because this anime is a masterpiece.
It really proves why Seinen as a Genre is superior to Shounen – atleast when it comes to story telling and character development.

Finally a reactor that gets what Canute is saying when he asks Thorfinn, "I wonder where you got that from?" understanding that the pose and level of cheekiness Thorfinn was exuding there was something he would have picked up from Askeladd since he always acted in that manner. Thank you so much for this. Well deserved like and sub.
