Man it's a shame Stampede didn't get as big of the audience as it should've because you can tell the voice actors were so passionate voicing their characters.
To some extent, i see where knives was coming from. 100 years of trying to kill all of humanity to protect your little brother, for him to just say he is fine with being chased, hated, ostracized, and being treated like a monster when he is clearly much better in every way. He sees that humanity has caused nothing but terror and is rotten to the point of not even being worth acknowledging it's potential.
But Vash just sees himself as an equal with them and wants to be treated like an equal. Vash the Stampede was his new name now, given to him by his humans, and now he wants to protect them, not just because he feels as though they are equals, but because all lives must be protected. Even if they hate him, he'll continue to run until he can sit by them again. He continues to help them even when they attack him. He will always try to keep them safe. Rem taught him peace and the cycle of nature, and he accepts that, but he'd rather continue to help people as that is all he can do.
The human Tragedy of Vash the Stampede is both very sad but also beautiful.

That's the most Vash thing to say.
This Scene is making me cry so much. Vash deserves to be praised for everything he did for humanity and his endless love towards them ❤
