Why is Nier:Automata anime called “ver1.1a”?
The game director said and I quote “Nier: Automata was a story we created to be a game, so copying it as is wouldn’t make an interesting story for an anime,”
So the story will be different from the game but how different?

Well based on the ending – spoiler –
Doesn’t it imply that everything is a loop “designed by the humans” to punish the replicants? But also as a choice by the player to give them another chance in case things go right?
It's Ver1.1a just like other Nier Automata media. Like YoRHa stage play which is ver.1.2. do it's like ver1.1a 1.1 means another version of story and "a" for anime.
I don't understand anything you're saying.
they did the same with nier replicant, having "remade it" but giving it the weird version title, not sure what it is specifically. Plus unlike the original nier you always get to play as brother nier rather then papa nier (unless ofc you got the japanese ps3 original nier then you'd get to play brother)
