The manga it's even better, so much that I wish the anime had 24 episodes because the story really keeps going and works on pretty interesting between Hananoi, Hotaru, even friends and family
Also, when reading the manga it felt too personal due to some experiences not to long ago

That's an interesting take. I tried reading the manga a while back and stopped after half a volume. I read a fair amount of shojo romance and I don't think he's even that extreme of an example comparatively, but it's just not to my taste, as that's just not my fantasy and that kind of guy is just not my type. There's definitely an element of self projection involved in the romance genre and if you don't have that connection it can be hard to get into it.
So it's hard to put yourself in the mindset of a teenager experiencing these feelings for the first time, if you're far removed from it. But looking at it from that perspective, it can actually be quite an interesting exploration as you elucidated in this thoughtful way. And I'll admit, this video made me realize part of what put me off is I see some of these patterns in my own adolescent relationships! It's painful to put the microscope back on yourself in that way. Pre video thoughts. I only saw the first two episodes. It wasn't for me, but I thought the reaction to it was confusing. Isn't the show suppose to be about how the way he shows his love is self destructive? It felt like people were taking it too literally when it was trying to give a message. Unless later on he continues the behaviour and that's what's actually romanticized? Welp, back to the video!

Yep. That is exactly how people respond to my favorite ship, Nozomi and Coco from Precure. I won’t get into the details unless you are interested since I don’t want to bother you with a giant comment explaining all the details people get wrong about the ship. But yeah, they get it extremely wrong and completely spread false facts about the ship (feels like most of them never even watched the show). It’s a bummer to me since it’s one of the few furry ships I know of in anime and it’s really sweet too
