Many people think that this path will change their lives or allow them to enjoy life without a day job, especially those who are single and have nothing else to do. Their partners often don’t push them to 'get a real job or face consequences.' Last year, I moved away, started my own business, and now make an average of $9,000 a month. Many people don’t want to be owners or bosses; they just want easy money to come in, but it’s not that easy anymore.

From what I’ve heard, Wridz and Hum are the way to go if you want to start your own business. However, people often get stuck with fees, whereas Wridz and Hum include them with a partial fee of responsibility. I drove for Wridz, and it's like running a business—collecting and marketing for clients, but you get 100% of the earnings. It's not easy, though; I worked 15 hours a day, day after day, for several months.

I’ve also used Wridz for rides, but many drivers just cancel on me, mostly because they’re far away and don’t want to take an $8-$15 ride, even though they’d keep 100% of the fare—they want more money. One day, I had errands with 3-4 stops, and each Lyft ride was about $9. If I tried to add a stop, they’d just say, 'End it!' So, I contacted Steve and Leah at Wridz and offered an additional $60 for a driver to stay with me. Independent drivers still wanted $300 for 2 hours, even though I was already offering $10-$15 per ride, plus an additional $80—around $140 altogether. Three drivers turned me down or said, 'Maybe later.' I understand the going rate is what it is as a small business startup or a professional i can see better.for about that, but take me in a prius or honda pilot well if a black car is well worth it.

In the end, I called a regular taxi driver, explained that I had a few stops, and asked if he could wait 5-15 minutes at each one. He agreed, let the meter run, charged me $80, and I tipped him another $80, so $160 total for about 2 hours. He even gave me his number to call anytime. Cabbies are back in force—they know how to collect clients and do business.

I watch your show a lot, though not as much now since I don’t drive anymore. I still see that things aren’t changing much. If rideshare ever leaves, like they have in some states, I’m sure cabbies will boom again, while rideshare drivers won’t be able to cover that medallion price tag. It’s all an investment. Keep up the good work—you’re helping and spreading the word, which is something the news media isn’t doing. It may be news, but it’s not exciting enough for them to cover.

It's like that convention, they don't care because those people can't touch them. They sleep very well with armed guards at every door every night for the rest of their lives. They're good. They don't see poverty they don't know of any poverty. No struggles at all. Life is good 🥂
