In June 2022, a new anime adaptation by Orange, titled Trigun Stampede, was announced.[48] It will be directed by Kenji Mutō, with Tatsurō Inamoto, Shin Okashima, and Yoshihisa Ueda writing the screenplay, Kōji Tajima serving as concept designer and credited with the character concept, and Nao Ootsu serving as chief designer. Kōdai Watanabe, Tetsurō Moronuki, Takahiko Abiru, Akiko Satō, Soji Ninomiya, and Yumihiko Amano are designing the characters, and Tatsuya Kato is composing the music.[49][50] The series premiered on January 7, 2023, on TV Tokyo and other networks. The opening theme song is “Tombi” by Kvi Baba, while the ending theme song is “Hoshi no Kuzu α” (星のクズ α) by singer Salyu and composer Haruka Nakamura.[51]

I had such a blast with this episode! My first anime was a Ghibli collection when I was 3, but my first true anime as a young boy growing up was when I was 12-13 years old a set of pirated CDs I borrowed from my family friend: Rurouni Kenshin, Love Hina, and last but not least Trigun. I know for some people its controversial, but personally I'm loving this!
I loved it.
I want more people to watch it.
I think people are avoiding it because it's cgi .
This is made by Studio Orange, one of the best CG animators in the anime industry. So the show looking good despite being CG is not really a surprise 😉.
First episode was so much fun. The animation was top tier. Made by the same stuidio who made Beastars- one of the best looking CGI anime. Then Vash is funny as he should be, and his new voice, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (Kirito from SAO, Betelguse from Re:Zero) does a top tier job with him.
The thing that makes this work for me as a cgi anime is something cg animated TV shows in general often fail to do, and that is that the characters feel like they have weight and actually inhabit the space they're animated in.
i don't mind the CGI per se, but i do with the animation loops. I do mind the new story though… What were they thinking. Why do animations are so exaggerated? scenes linger longer than they should. The duel with the July guard was so weird, no sense of time. I can confidently say… I hated it

The CGI is super clean and the show looks good. I'm a little bummed that they've altered the classic artstyle. But I love this story and I'm not letting some minor qualms get in the way of enjoying new Trigun content. Its a strong start!
