They reused WIT’s animation for the most part but added some of their own animation in the “Askeladd scene”
1-4 series in 1015. With Canute, we looked a little further than 1018

King Sweyne died in 1014 and a majority of this episode and the stuff on the farm is in 1015. We also got a ton of dates this episode. Also there was a line cut from the monologue at the end that stated "In 1017 Earl Eadric was put to death (after he had helped poison Canute's rivals)" . This covered Ch. 61 and 62, one of my favorite pieces of art from the manga is in Ch. 62 Pg. 66 – 67.

KING CANUTE! Cool episode and fun discussion. Like you guys said Canute's method here is definitely reminiscent of Askeladd, although Canute does seem to be a lot more empathetic towards people. Also fun fact King Canute has the same voice actor as KING FLOCH (I don't actually like Floch for the record)
Floki is basically a high level Bureaucrat(warrior-bureaucrat). A new King can't just fire types like Floki(because of pushback he would receive from other noblemen) similar to how a new U.S. President can't just fire bureaucrats after being elected. Plus Floki assisted Canute's father conquering England(Floki has experience in getting things “done”).
The Christian Monk spoke of the godly unconditional Love, and wore down after a couple ‘drinks’.
The one who will come in episode 7 will grind his memory into dust.
Thorkell is a noble(title) Dane. The man talking with Thorkell is called Asgeir . He is Thorkell’s second in command, he’s Anglo-Saxon, and he is Anti-christian. Remember the name.
