So what's the plan now genius Ainge? You give away four rotation players and decimate the Jazz depth for absolutely nothing and now Sexton is injured again and will be out for probably the rest of the season. Also, what's the plan next year if Clarkson doesn't re-sign? Beasley had only a $15M team option so he would've been a perfect player to hold on to, not only for his shooting but also insurance. Vanderbilt has only a $5M contract next year, another great contract. Ainge gave away Conley, Beasley, Vanderbilt, Alexander-Walker for literally one unprotected 1st round pick in 2027, four years from now! It would've been far better to just hold onto solid players Beasley and Vanderbilt, and just traded Conley and NAW directly to the TWolves for D'angelo Russell, then just let Russell leave next year.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lauri asks for a trade considering how much the team has been gutted and doesn't have any good outlook. There aren't even any good free agents available, so what good is all this cap space when there's no one worth signing? The draft picks from Cleveland and Minnesota aren't even great since both teams will likely be in the playoffs for all those years.
