So it's not a rip-off, it just has the same idea with two parents who work dangerous jobs and has a kid. Also I think it's worth watching because it is similar but is slightly different
more about what I mean by closeness is that in spyxfamily they don't know each other that well at start but in later eps they know more, they get closer and become more like family which is different from buddy daddies because the two parents are already close so unlike spyxfamily it's not about becoming more like family/close like family, it's about the parents being better
People should stop comparing it to Spy X Family, it's completely different from that. Here two spies who are best friends are forced to keep a kid because she has no parents and is very cute. That's it. No supernatural powers, no romance, no secrets. Spy X Family is unique because the main premise is that every single character is hiding something no matter who it is. In buddy daddies, the kid sees shooting and murder happen in front of her but ignores it because she just wants love.
Both animes are good on their own. But for me, so far, I enjoyed Buddy Daddies more than SxF. To the point that I watched episode 3 twice and episode 5 thrice. And I rarely rewatch esp when a show is still airing. Buddy Daddies feels more realistic and not too exaggerated, and it showcases child behavior of that age more accurately in my opinion.

I would say buddie daddies could have been inspired by spy family but it's still its own unique show.
