I really enjoy your content. I’ve been trying to watch more anime, but there’s been so much come out this spring season

Stampede was a neat vibe, like the world/setting refused to play along with Vash's coping mechanism persona compared to other Trigun media.

Btw, I’ve been watching your manga retrospectives. One recommendation I give is Dragon Quest: the adventures of dai. The anime remake just finished last year, and I thought it would be an interesting retrospective, considering it’s an older series and you don’t have to be familiar with the games to read or watch it.

That Trigun video was the first video of yours that i watched, and it was the one that convince me to subscribe to you. And yes i watched when it wasn't that big, so you can imagine how happy it made to see that video doing as well as is doing rn, it's a fantastic video. Great stuff here on your channel. I genuinely hope you become big, you deserve it your videos are great and really high quality.

I’m happy to say I bought the manga back in the mid-2000’s after watching the anime and I still have the books today.

A really enjoyed Stampede. The visuals are gorgeous, the fights are great, and I actually really like Roberto. Although I totally agree with them reducing Livio to basically a robot was a letdown.

You brought up a lot of points i had while watching too, especially how Vash is kinda just emo from the start, i respect the original anime a lot for doing an actual 50 50 cut between episodes of goofy vash an serious vash, felt super rewarding when shit actually got real.

At first i was really bother by a lot of those changes like legato or crimson nail being super lame and just showing up for the sake of it. Initially the announcement of season2 made me think that it actually fixes every issue i had and i was super hyped but the more i think about it it's still not perfect even if season 2 delivers.
I wish the show had more restrain to keep the characters those characters for later instead of showign them but not doing anything with them, sure we might see the cool stuff the eventually do but especially for new viewers they are missing the original impact.
I really like crimson nail because she came in just impaling legato who was like one of the most powerful beings in the manga at that point with giant ass nails, now we saw a crying test tube kid that might maybe grew up to be cool.
Also Wolfwoods arc basically being over already really makes me wonder how they want to keep up the steam when they already used all the good material.

As a new iteration of the show it's still bizarre how good it worked though, usually with a reboot like this it will just straight up suck or have nothign in common with the original but while watching i actually had a lot of moment where i liked the new structure and changes.

Also of course, the show looks straight up incredible, this is the best 3D TV anime has looked and everyone who's still bashing CGI out of principle should watch this

You should do a video on the souleater manga and how it ties in into fireforce

Blue Voices 2023.04.14 - 9:40 pm

Great video, loved hearing your thoughts!
I do agree that a lot of your nit-picks are likely to be covered in season 2 but I also think some of the decisions were based on the fact that there would potentially not be a season two regardless of it already being planned out since in a recent Orange panel they did say that the future of the series would depend on reception and the amount fan support and they could actually do quite a few seasons so long as the support remains strong enough to fund it ("the sky's the limit" or smth like that is what they said). I also stand by Trimax being the top piece of Trigun media so far but the fact that they're shuffling so much of the timeline and dropping hints to stuff we didn't see til the endgame of Trimax has me hyped for what they're planning in season 2. I am hoping so hard for the Vash/Wolfwood shared braincell shenanigans in the next season since these first 12 eps felt very much like a foundation so that they could really start the adventures of the Trigun crew for future seasons. I am also super stoked to see what Milly will be like (though slightly afraid admittedly); gosh Orange really did just serve us some good fukin food, man.

So far I was able to embrace all changes made so far just fine. Do I prefer what I knew from the manga? Sure, but I am also willing to trust Nightow & the crew behind Trigun Stampede to present me with a great new version of Trigun, and thus far they presented me with an anime that I enjoy just as much, and partially even more than the old one.

Also regarding some nitpicks. I'd say, one can't have the cake and eat it to. First of all, season 1 just getting 12 instead of more episodes is just something we have to live with from a business & industry side of things. So regarding the complaints about XYZ not showing up yet, trying to shoehorn Midvalley and all the other Gung Ho Guns into these 12 episodes wouldn't have worked. It would've been too much, for too little time. I've noticed how people complain about the pacing, but if anything would've truly given us bad pacing, that would've been too fast, that would've been the attempt to shoehorn every single Gung Ho Gun and other villains into this series. And yes, we only got a little of Legato, Livio & Elendira, but this was done with intention. It was an introduction to them at earlier stages of their lives, with much bigger things still to come. The director already shared a sketch of a more grown version of Elendira, talking about how she will become stronger. And that was before season 2 was even announced. One can dislike what they've seen of Livio & Legato so far, but we simply weren't supposed to see more of them yet. Trigun Stampede Season 1 has basically been an elaborate prologue to a much bigger story. One may try to view this prologue as its own story, ignoring everything that is still to come, but there is really no point in doing so. Especially if people want to do so, by comparing it to the manga. Like, yes of course we've gotten so much amazing stuff with someone like Livio in Trigun Maximum, that on the grand scheme of things is better than what we saw of him in Trigun Stampede, but it makes no sense to compare his entire story, to what is his introduction in Trigun Stampede. Imagine they would've tried to shoehorn Livio's entire story into these last 6 episodes of Trigun Stampede, just for the sake of giving fans everything they knew about Livio? That would've done way more damage than good. That would've caused true problems(not just nitpicks from fans wanting that sweet fan service of Razlo swinging around 3 huge guns and turning into this super cool gunslinging cowboy) in the quality of the writing of this show. So instead, they established that he is there, that he has a connection to Wolfwood, that there is way more to him than meets the eye at first glance, and that there is still much more to come with the vision Livio had, and with what Legato said about him still being of use to them. And these same things can basically be said about a bunch of others as well.

wood worse part of this design is his trousers don't know why the want him to show his ankle ( ankle & angel ?)

I too feel like the 12 episodes werent enough to fully explore Vash´s personality and his relationships with other characters. Also I liked how we learned about Vashs identity slowly. I t just felt like more of a mindblown (or maybe I was jzst 14 who knows?). Overall Im gratefull for the new Trigun content but I hope the 2nd seacon could fix little bit its pacing

Creataria 2023.04.15 - 3:58 pm

I put off watching Stampede until it concluded solely because I was annoyed they replaced Milly for seemingly no reason, but after watching it, I have zero regrets.

It pushed me to read the manga that I’d put off for well over a decade and ho-ly shit, what a ride.

The first few episode of Stampede were definitely a bit strange for me. The pacing felt a bit all over the place, but it really clicked in episode 3 and onwards.

I personally disagree about the change to Monev the Gale—I thought he was a total nothingburger in the manga, so it was nice see him have like…actual character, even if it’s been done before. I do feel conflicted about Livio and Elendira though. At least we know Livio will be back, but I’m really not fond of them taking a cool-ass trans woman character and turning her into a little alien-hybrid baby.

That all said, I trust Studio Orange’s overall vision, and have high hopes where they’re going to take Stampede next. It’s not going to be a manga recreation, and I frankly don’t need nor even want it to be.

I’m excited to see how they’re going to push Vash next. It’s gonna be good!!

Fantastic video, all fair and good points. You got a sub outta me dude. Love and Peace!!🤞

If I had to give Stamped a rating I'd also give it about a 9/10. Awesome in both dubs and fun for someone who didn't know much about the original.

First analysis that shows some very good points on the good, the bad and the in-between for Trigun Stampede. I can tell you both appreciate and respect the Trigun series.
