I'm really interested in how these robots are "evolving" by copying humans. But I think that "mom" robot went haywire and wanted to be beautiful. Was fucked up at the start though with the android on the cross watching the play.
This show did not disappoint coming back from their break. I feel like 9S has more of a grudge than 2B does for some reason. Odd as it sounds for an android.
Just to give an actual idea as to how long the war between androids and machines have been going on:
AD 5012 – Aliens invade earth and the first machine war starts
AD 5204 – First machine war ends
AD 11937 (not a typo) – first YoRHa type androids are developed
AD 11939 – Fourteenth machine war begins with the assault on Pearl Harbor (A2 was part of this group, she will be seen later)
AD 11945 – Current year
The war between androids and machines has been going on for 6933 years at this point but YoRHa has only been involved for 6 years so far.

You haven't seen a single human in the show yet. One of the themes in the story is about how this war between humans and aliens has been going on for thousands of years but the androids actually doing the fighting have never actually seen either side of the war. The YoRHa androids have never seen an alien or a human, but they still fight because that's what they're ordered to do, even if they no longer know why.
Most of the main enemies (bosses) have names and I doubt they will be named in the anime. Like the big machine in episode 1 it's called Engels (reference to the philosopher Friedrich Engels), now with this machine Simone (reference to another philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, if you know about her you probably know why beauty is the main characteristic of her character) and obviously Adam and Eve.
The amount of philosophical and religious references in this game is crazy. That's why is my favorite game.

for those who wander what made simone glitch on the first hack she did, 2B is equiped with a counter hack for these kind of thing that what made simone fail her own hack. saying more would be spoiler.
I prefer to call it a "Dress Dino"
Also remember, YoRHa don't know that there are machines that can be reasoned with. To 9S, any machine that acts strange is either glitching at best, or is at risk of becoming like the songstress. He doesn't see them as people, only malfunctions that could become very dangerous if left alone.

I'd say they put more emphasis on doing shots to show her ass in a fight than some Android CG….. Tho this episode both were 👌
I feel like the Anime isn't able to convey every detail that we would find in these different sections and stories, Always feels like something incomplete
