What do you think about this story and these autographs?
Too many red flags for me. Sounds fishy.
Definitely a fun story. The part that makes me the most skeptical is the weird confusion over if/when/how the cards were graded. Seems like with something this recent, that timeline would be pretty straight forward.
Also, anytime someone says something is "impossible" to fake, that is a red flag for me as well. I have trouble believing it to be that absolute.
So consider me skeptical, but I sure hope it is a true story, because it is a great one!
Have you ever done a video where you talked about how you get TTM autographs? Would definitely be interested to learn more.
Highly doubtful to me they're real. Then again I doubted people would worship Goldin as a celebrity hero when he's really a fraud. Anything is possible in this hobby apparently. 🤷♂️
The time line on grading and such I could not even follow, however I believe the story
Who knows we weren't there 🙆♂️
Remember the TTL for Babe Ruth were mostly from his secretary from what I heard. Even PSA graded some said they were authentic but later came out after someone brought that up that it was not his signature and PSA came back to say they made a mistake lol. So were those his autograph or were they his secretary's auto 🤔. Great video mike.
One of the big rules in authentication is to ignore all the stories and just look at the item. Lots of the most interesting stories Barry Halper used to tell were complete B.S.
Some red flags but I believe they are real. Drent has been in the auction business for years with no issues. Also believe PSA authentication and JSA agreed on the authenticity of the Autographs.
Hi Mike. Awesome story and find. Those auto's look like they were just signed a couple of days ago.
Fun video.
In my opinion, a good/legit find wouldn't have that many red flags.
Items could very well be legit but the contradicting provenance (supposedly used in the authentication process) puts a giant question mark on the whole deal.
A Ruthian task on your part getting that fascinating story sorted out- great job JWH and congratulations on your new sponsorship- I’ll be sure to check them out for all my card protections and storage needs!
