So many horrid things have stemmed from the pandemic: I lost people, during. But some people, braver than me—more infinitely clever—have had the world reach into their home in the avatar of COVID-19, and in spite of the endless abyss that it presents, say, "This triggered my FILDI (fuck it, let's do it)," and do something amazing and incredible. You came across my recommendation at a time when I'm suffering: right now, I suffered a crash, and broke my nose, broke bones in my face, chipped teeth, and I couldn't do anything about it. I subscribed to you, in the instant I saw this piece. And if it's mid, it's a mid masterpiece. I don't think it's mid. Thank you, for this. I think I'm going to go off and do something brave, now. ^-^ idk how to terminate a conversation, let alone a youtube comment, but I love you, and I love this.
As someone who often suffers from feeling stupid, especially when listening to the beautiful prose you seem to effortlessly breathe in these essays, I didn't really expect the ending and it hit me a lot harder than I expected. In a way that you seemed lost in the process, I think I can get the same way, which is why the marble of clarity of this finished essay is so startling to me. Your sincerity and knowledge blew me away. Your work is amazing and this is a stunning edition to your own set of masterpieces. Thank you for doing the things you do.
Now to bite the bullet and pick up Lupin. I'd already seen the Castle of Cagliostro but it was this essay that makes me want to see more. Thank you again, Breadsword, for everything 🙂
